I'm also thrilled. I leave for California in 24 days, for my first speaking engagement that wasn't a result of knowing someone personally. This feels legit. Like a big step for me. And I'm praying God fill my rambling mouth with words straight from Him. (By the way, this conference costs nothing. $30 if you register by January 25! If you can afford the flight, you can afford the conference!)
I'm wondering... how in the world do I prepare the exact words God wants the women at my sessions to hear?
Thank God, my sister in law has decided to come with me. She's bringing a friend along as well. So instead of gurgling stomach acid alone in my hotel room, I'll have friends to laugh and pray with as we eat too much gas station candy. (My anxiety drug of choice is straight sugar. Nerds. Sour Patch Kids. You get the point.)
Will you please pray for me as I prepare?
Pray that God's Presence would go with me.
This verse below is written in the front of my Bible, and I pray it any time I teach a Sunday school class, youth small group, or anything else. I need God's Presence.
I'm also sharing briefly at a very special event just across the bay from me, in the beautiful town of Fairhope. It's a night all about orphan care, worship, and community. If you live in Mobile, hop in my car and ride with me next Tuesday night. Seriously! I'll drive you.
Now... back to work writing for these events.
(And by writing for these events, I mean working hard for five minutes at a time, until fear takes over and I scroll through my Facebook feed in utter procrastination and denial.)
Oh Lord.
Use me in spite of myself!

I would go with you if I could. I am so stinkin' proud of you friend! God is using you and He will give you the words he wants you to say - they might even be different that the words you have written for that evening. Tell your heart and let it be His. BIG HUGS!!!
