An Open Letter to My Husband in Preparation for Valentine's Day {AKA, I Want a Scarf}

Dear Brad,

Next month will hold Valentine's Day.  And yes, we first became parents on Valentine's Day and now think of the holiday simultaneously with children's birthday  parties instead of romance.  And we love it that way.  This year, Caroline will turn FIVE on February 14th, and my mama's heart  is just overwhelmed at how fast the sweet time passes.

And I know we're kind of "over" doing a romantic couple's Valentine's celebration in light of Caroline's big day.

But...

You could always get me a present.

Eh?

You know.  Something beautiful.  Stylish.  Made with purpose.  Something like say, a scarf made in Tanzania by my buddy Laura's friend, meant to support her family.  (Her name is Grace.) Such a great cause! You can click here to read about it.

There are several gorgeous colors to choose from for my gift.  Yellow might be my favorite, but I can't be sure. The mulitcolor also has my eye.

I trust your taste.
And if you feel doubt about which to choose, get me more than one. I won't be mad.

Don't you love that they aren't bulky?  They're the perfect weight to transition even into the spring and summer. I'm in love. Head over heels!

Ahem. With you, I mean. I love you. And you'll love this scarf on me.

I'm not being greedy. I'm only telling you this because it's for a great cause.
It has nothing to do with how stunning these hand-woven creations are.
Nothing to do with how luxurious it must feel to brush a custom-made fabric against my bare neck.
I'm not selfish at all.
Really.
Really?

Sweet Brad, I'm so glad you understand.
I knew you would.
The project is called "Giving Grace".  The scarves are $25, and you can click here to buy my gift.

My neck sure does feel cold.

Love,
Your Adoring Wife

PS - You know my friend Laura? These are all of her pictures and her project. Isn't she sweet? You can read more about it on her blog Twirl.
