Long ago, when we lived in Montgomery, Brad told me we were having an “adoption dinner” at our house. We had those fairly frequently back then… meetings with couples who were considering adoption and wanted to pick our brains — feeble as our brains may be. We were super busy that week, so I picked up takeout and made no big fuss.
Only after our meal did I realize that this warm, down-to-earth couple is sort of famous and definitely a big deal.
Layla writes for The Lettered Cottage, her interior design blog with, oh, a jillion followers. She’s in a league with The Pioneer Woman. (As in, actual friends with her. I say I’m friends with Pioneer Woman, but a psychiatrist might have a term for that.) And Kevin is a very successful professional musician. There is a Wikepedia page for him. Enough said. (I know!!!) These people make beauty out of everything they touch.
Anyway, Kevin wrote a gorgeous adoption song.
(Who doesn’t love a great adoption song?)
Layla says “The song is called Love Collides, and it’s an acoustic guitar-meets-piano style ballad.”
The song is their adoption fundraiser. Oh man. The next time we adopt, I shudder to think what I can make and sell for adoption fundraising. Necklaces made from soda tabs? Crosses made from popsicle sticks?
Oh, to be a real artist.
You should download their song. Your life will be richer for it.
