"Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."
Psalm 20:7
Long ago, chariots and horses were the sign of higher military technology and financial backing. The armies with chariots and horses assumed victory.
But God's people don't trust in the way things appear.
We don't trust in the way the evidence looks.
We don't care how the circumstances stack up.
We know victory rests in the name of the Lord our God.
Some trust in circumstances,
in adoption agencies,
in fertility treatments,
in hospitals and doctors,
in church programs,
in dating websites...
Some trust in savings accounts,
in education,
in good looks,
in hard work,
in seniority.
Some trust in trying hard,
in lives well lived,
in self-promotion,
in networking,
in sense of humor,
in being kind to others.
Some trust in many things.
Often good and fine things.
But Christians know we can only trust in One thing.
We trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Feel like a game?
(Ex: I don't trust in the long hours I put into work, or I don't trust in the chemotherapy I'm taking, but in the healing hand of God, or I don't trust in the blind dates I go on, but on the God Who will bring me exactly what/who I need.)

Although I fill out the eforms everday, I don't trust Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes to clear my debts.
I do not trust that being healed would equal joy... it sure would be amazing but I am learning that joy is truly a fruit of the Spirit & not dependant on circumstances but Him!
I do not trust in our lawyer or the passport or VISA officials...I trust in my God to get us home!
Thank you so much for this post. I am currently in Ug*nda. My husband left yesterday and we are waiting on a ruling. I want nothing more than to get home but I know that God has great plans for this time of waiting that I had no idea would be so hard. Your post touched my heart so much today...thanks!

I do not trust in the sale of our home to help get us back into the black. I trust in my Jehovah Jireh to be our Provider..
Amen, amen, amen. Oh how you all minister to me. We trust God, not circumstances.
