Holding It Together

I do not know what is wrong with us.

I keep hearing stories of things falling apart. Husbands walking away from wives. Parents walking away from children. Families walking away from the church.

You science buffs may have to help me on this… There is some scientific theory or law that explains how everything tends towards chaos, unless there is an outside force driving it towards order. Without gravity, our furniture floats around the house bumping into each other. Without God, our hearts float away with no regard for the pain left behind.

We need our sweet Savior. We need Him more than we even have eyes to see. Yes, I cling to Him. But more than that, He clings to me, and holds me in the palm of His hand. His grip is stronger than mine, and I take comfort in that.
“… in Him all things hold together.”
Colossians 1:17

  1. Chaos theory says that everything falls to disorder, but this certainly doesn't defy gravity. In nature, things fall apart. Things never just naturally fall together.

The moral of the story is that if you cherish your family, your church, or your relationship with God, you can't just let it float. You have to do work to keep it together. If you just let things coast along, they'll fall apart. (That doesn't stop people from trying.)

  2. You are so right, unfortunately. This world is beyond depraved. God is not of utmost importance in the majority of America, that is evident.

Praying for our nation and our world. That we would turn back to God, before it's too late.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
