It’s been a couple of weeks since I got the necklace I asked for as a Christmas gift from Brad. If you’re in the “waiting” phase of adoption, there are few better suggestions that I could give than that you get something that is a physical reminder of you child. Something you can wear all of the time. It is no mistake that God created 9 month long pregnancies filled with nausea, growing bellies, and constant baby kicks & flips. There is something so healthy about a motherly obsession — an unceasing love and prayerfulness, for your child to come. With pregnancy, we eat differently, sleep differently, and dress differently. With adoption, we spend differently, fill our time differently (with adoption paperwork!), and wish we had some physical connection to the precious baby we love so much. I have loved wearing my necklace every day. I know it seems trivial, but it seems to increase my prayerfulness, peace, and anticipation. In fact, I may just have that “expectant glow”!!!
